Shingda was established from a partnership in 1984 as a pipe-laying sub contractor. Our pioneer project was the laying of a 3.3km long, 1900mm dia water transmission mains along Singapore Pipeline Reserve. In 1986, Shingda was incorporated with Singapore's Registry of Companies and Businesses. With only a modest capital and workforce, Shingda's hard work and foresight paid off four years later as the company expanded and moved into our present premises in Kranji.

- Shingda is derived from 昇達, which means "Rise and Achieve!" The ascending 'S' shape represents a pipework, exemplifying Shingda's forte in pipe laying.

- Reddish bronze is chosen as our corporate colour because it represents stability; reddish bronze soil is symbolic of stability as it is the perfect soil for underground construction activity.

- Bronze is symbolic of Shingda's success journey – bronze does not break under extreme stress and is easily adapted under different circumstances. This represents Shingda’s journey of persevering amidst pressure to achieve success.
