It is the only standard in the family against which organizations can be certified – although certification is not a compulsory requirement of the standard.

ISO 14001:2004 specifies requirements for an environmental management system to enable an organization to develop and implement a policy and objectives which take into account legal requirements and other requirements to which the organization subscribes, and information about significant environmental aspects. It applies to those environmental aspects that the organization identifies as those which it can control and those which it can influence. It does not itself state specific environmental performance criteria

OHSAS 18000 is an international occupational health and safety management system specification. It comprises two parts, 18001 and 18002 and embraces a number of other publications. OHSAS 18001 is an Occupation Health and Safety Assessment Series for health and safety management systems. It is intended to help an organization to control occupational health and safety risks. It was developed in response to widespread demand for a recognized standard against which to be certified and assessed.
To safeguard the well-being of our employees and stakeholders, Shingda has adopted the OHSAS 18001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System for a proactive and preventative emphasis on risk control factors by identifying and assessing the likelihood of hazards in the workplace. |
